'Art of the Block' The Lives & Work of Phyllis Barron & Dorothy Larcher.
Joining Jean Vacher will be rising poet, Jane Weir who will be reading from her new book, 'Walking the Block'. This part poetic and part biographic representation of the lives of these two great and innovative textile printers, Barron & Larcher, is to be launched in October.
Jane Weir was joint winner of the first jackson Dawson Award for poetry in 2003 and has gone on to win accolades for her work.
She has a lingering passion for textiles. |

'World Textile Weekend'
Join five passionate textile collectors and travellers who will be selling fabulous textiles and jewellery sourced from far away exotic corners of the earth. Textiles and costumes from Asia and Africa, ikat chapans from central Asia, costumes, cloth and bedspreads from Uzbekistan, Burmese silks, indigo jackets from S.W .China, Chinese kimonos, silks, indigo throws, wonderful Hungarian linens, nomadic dowry textiles, ethnic jewellery and much much more.
